The apps
What is stored on your device
The apps (Multiview Live for iPhone & iPad, Multiview Live for Mac and Multiview Live Sender) only store your settings locally on your device, for example your Companion server address, VDO.Ninja links, ProPresenter address, button assignments, layouts and names. This data is never sent to us. Deleting the app removes it. On the Mac you can export the settings to a file yourself.
Connections the apps make
The apps only connect to services you set up yourself:
- Bitfocus Companion, ProPresenter, Multiview Live Sender and NDI® sources on your local network. For this, iOS/iPadOS/macOS asks for local network permission. These connections run directly between your devices.
- VDO.Ninja: When you enter a VDO.Ninja link, the app loads that page in a web view, and VDO.Ninja’s privacy terms apply. For the video connection (WebRTC), technically necessary data such as IP addresses is exchanged between the devices involved and VDO.Ninja’s servers.
- Camera access (Mac and iPad): If you choose a USB video device (Mac and iPad) or a Blackmagic device (Mac) as the source, macOS or iPadOS asks for camera permission. Multiview Live displays the picture and only saves it when you start a recording yourself – locally on your Mac. Multiview Live Sender sends it only to your own devices on the local network, never to us or third parties.
Purchases
Purchases (Pro) are handled entirely by Apple’s App Store. We do not receive personal data such as your name or payment details. Apple’s privacy policy applies.
Updates and download of Multiview Live Sender
You download the free Multiview Live Sender from download.multiview-live.app. The app regularly checks whether a new version is available (update framework “Sparkle”). It fetches a version list from download.multiview-live.app; technically this transmits your IP address, the app version and the macOS version (in the request’s user agent). No other data is sent. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (secure, up-to-date software). The download server is operated by Cloudflare (see below).
Feedback
When you contact us via “Send Feedback”, your email app opens. If you choose, the email includes the app version, system version and device type. We only use your email to reply and delete it when it is no longer needed (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR).
This website
This website uses no cookies, no analytics and loads no third-party content (no external fonts, no embedded videos).
Hosting by Cloudflare
The website (multiview-live.app) and the download server (download.multiview-live.app) are provided by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. When you visit, Cloudflare processes technically necessary access data: IP address, date and time, page requested, browser and operating system, and the referring page. This is needed to deliver the pages and protect them against attacks (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We do not analyse this data and have not enabled any additional logging.
A data processing agreement (Data Processing Addendum) is in place with Cloudflare. Data may be transferred to the USA. Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework; EU Standard Contractual Clauses apply in addition. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
Storage period, recipients and encryption
Storage period: We store personal data only as long as needed for the respective purpose or as required by statutory retention periods (e.g. under tax and commercial law). After that it is deleted.
Recipients: We only pass on data where this is necessary to operate the service – to Cloudflare as hosting provider (data processing, see above) – or where we are legally obliged to. Purchases are processed by Apple under its own responsibility.
Encryption: This website and the download server are only reachable via an encrypted connection (HTTPS/TLS), shown by the lock icon in your browser’s address bar.
Requests by email or phone
If you contact us by email or phone, we process your request and the data you provide (e.g. name, email address, content) in order to answer it. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if your request relates to a contract or pre-contractual questions, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (our interest in answering requests). We delete the data once the request has been dealt with and no retention obligations apply.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify, erase and restrict the processing of your data, to data portability and to object (Art. 15–21 GDPR). Just write to mail@danielstiefelhagen.de. You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
Right to object: Where we process data based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest), you can object to this processing at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21 GDPR).
Changes
If the app or this website changes, we will update this policy. The version published here applies.
