Troubleshooting

No picture, no connection to Companion or ProPresenter? Here are the most common causes.

Almost every problem comes down to the network or a setting in Companion. Check these three things first:

  1. iPhone, Companion computer and ProPresenter are on the same network – no guest Wi-Fi.
  2. Multiview Live may use the local network: iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network → Multiview Live.
  3. The Companion computer still has the same IP address as when you set it up.

Video

The picture stays black. Tap the picture once – iOS sometimes blocks autoplay.

Check the URL – no stream found. The sender isn’t sending, or the names don’t match. ?push=Name and ?view=Name must be exactly the same, including any password.

Please enter a valid VDO.Ninja URL. Paste the complete view link, e.g. https://vdo.ninja/?view=….

The picture stutters. Choose Default under Advanced settings → VDO.Ninja extra parameters, or move closer to the Wi-Fi router.

The fields are split wrong. The multiview format doesn’t match your mixer – see Set up the multiview.

Multiview Live Sender isn’t found. See Sender troubleshooting.

Companion

HTTP API not reachable – check address and port. Check the emulator link and turn on the HTTP API in Companion under Settings → Protocols.

Button subscriptions are off or Live buttons need Companion 4.3 or newer. Turn on button subscriptions in Companion under Settings → Protocols → Satellite, or update Companion. Without them switching works, but tally and the live button picker don’t.

Tapping a camera does nothing. That field has no button yet. Open Set up multiview and assign the CUT and preview buttons.

Companion error (HTTP …) for Page … The assigned button doesn’t exist like that – page, row or column is wrong. Assign the button again.

ProPresenter

ProPresenter not reachable – check network settings. Turn on Settings → Network → Enable Network in ProPresenter and enter exactly the IP and port shown there. You need ProPresenter 7.9 or newer.

No active presentation. Open a presentation in ProPresenter.

The frame around the slide stays yellow. The tally buttons in the ProPresenter settings don’t match the Companion button of your ProPresenter source.
