Remote control and second display

Control Multiview Live from Companion and show the multiview on a second display.

Multiview on a second display

  1. Window → Multiview on Second Display (⌥⌘O) opens the Multiview Output window with the clean multiview picture.
  2. Use Full Screen on Display to choose the display.

The app never takes over a display by itself – so it can’t accidentally grab an output that feeds your vision mixer. With Window → Keep Main Window on Top, the main window stays above other windows.

The second display works with USB, Blackmagic and network sources, not with VDO.Ninja.

Remote control over HTTP

Control → HTTP Remote Control (Port 8742) lets you control the app from outside – e.g. with the Generic HTTP module in Companion or a Stream Deck. It’s off by default.

To set up a Companion button:

  1. Add the Generic HTTP module in Companion.
  2. Create a button with a GET action, URL e.g. http://192.168.1.30:8742/cut (your Mac’s IP).

Remote control has no password – any device on the same network can use it. Only turn it on in a network you trust.
