Troubleshooting
No picture, no connection to Companion or ProPresenter – the most common causes and fixes.
Most problems come down to the network, an address or a missing permission. The status bar at the bottom shows you where things are stuck.
Video
No picture from USB or Blackmagic
- No camera access: allow Multiview Live under System Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera.
- No Blackmagic device found: install Blackmagic Desktop Video, restart the Mac if needed.
- Connected, but black: there’s no signal at the device – check the mixer output and cable.
Network source not found or stuttering
- Are the Mac and the source on the same network? Guest Wi-Fi often blocks connections.
- Allow Local Network: System Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network.
- If it stutters, set Quality to Low (smoother) and connect the Mac by cable.
VDO.Ninja shows no picture
?push=Nameand?view=Namemust match exactly.- Is the push link still running on the sending computer?
Fields are cut off or swapped: the multiview format doesn’t match – see Set up the multiview.
Companion

ProPresenter
- ProPresenter not reachable: turn on Settings → Network → Enable Network in ProPresenter and enter exactly the IP and port shown there. You need ProPresenter 7.9 or newer.
- No active presentation: open a presentation in ProPresenter.
- Slide frame stays yellow: check the Companion buttons for program and preview in ProPresenter settings.
