Choose a video source
How to get the multiview picture onto your Mac – via USB, Blackmagic, NDI® or VDO.Ninja.
Choose the source under Settings → Multiview Source or quickly in the source menu above the multiview. There are two rows: Video streams and Hardware devices.
USB (UVC)
For anything that shows up like a webcam – e.g. the USB-C output of an ATEM Mini or a USB capture card. Very low latency, no network needed.
- Plug in the device.
- Choose Hardware devices → USB (UVC) and pick it under Device.
- Allow camera access the first time.
Blackmagic
For DeckLink, UltraStudio and Intensity devices.
- Install Blackmagic Desktop Video (the download link is in the same section).
- Choose Hardware devices → Blackmagic (DeckLink / Thunderbolt) and pick the device.
- Allow camera access.
NDI®
If your mixer or another computer sends the multiview via NDI®, choose NDI® under Video streams and pick the source from the list. The Mac and the source must be on the same network.
- One multiview source: the usual case – the source already is a finished multiview.
- Multiple sources (Pro): build your own multiview from several cameras. Open Arrange windows & assign sources, choose an arrangement (e.g. 2×2, 3×3, 2+8) and click each window to give it a source. Up to 12 windows.
Picture stutters?
Set Quality to Low (smoother) – the app then uses the source’s smaller stream. A wired network connection for the Mac helps most.
VDO.Ninja
Also works over the internet, with about 0.2–1 second of delay.
- On the computer with the multiview signal, open a push link, e.g.
https://vdo.ninja/?push=MyMultiview. - In the app, enter the matching view link:
https://vdo.ninja/?view=MyMultiview.
Next: Connect Companion.
